Founded on a Particular Kind of Patience

Alderwick Sero was established in 2011 by a small group of electricians who shared a frustration with how residential electrical work was often approached in Kuala Lumpur — quickly, without explanation, and without much regard for what the homeowner actually needed to know.

The name comes from an old workshop concept: Alder for the wood traditionally used in fine joinery, and Sero as a quiet acknowledgment that the best work often takes a moment longer than expected. It is a small affectation, perhaps, but one that reflects how we approach each visit.

Our client base has grown primarily through referral, which we take as a reliable indicator that the approach is working. We serve Kuala Lumpur's residential properties — terraced houses, condominiums, heritage shophouses, and bungalows — each with their own particular electrical history and requirements.

Our Mission

To carry out residential electrical work in Kuala Lumpur with the kind of care that older trades like carpentry and joinery have always demanded — methodical, considered, and respectful of the materials and spaces involved.

Our Approach

We communicate clearly before, during, and after every visit. Nothing is done without explanation, and no decision is made on your behalf without your knowledge. Written documentation of findings and work performed is standard.

Our Values

Honesty about what a property needs. Restraint about recommending work that isn't necessary. Respect for the homeowner's time and budget. These are not marketing claims — they are practical commitments that shape how we schedule, price, and carry out our work.

The People Behind the Work

A small team. Everyone is known by name. Every visit is assigned to someone accountable.

Standards We Hold Ourselves To

ST Licence Registration

All electricians hold valid ST Electrical licences issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Malaysia's Energy Commission. Credentials are available on request.

Written Work Records

Every service concludes with a written summary of findings and work performed. For panel restorations, this includes updated circuit documentation.

Clear Communication

Before any additional work is considered, we explain what we have found and what the options are. No surprises on the final invoice.

Safety Protocols

Work is carried out with appropriate isolation procedures, personal protection, and testing equipment. We follow MS IEC 60364 wiring standards throughout.

Privacy and Discretion

We treat your home and its contents with the discretion you would expect from any trusted tradesperson. No photographs are taken without your knowledge.

Quality Components

Where replacements or new components are required, we use parts sourced from established suppliers. Brand choices are discussed with you where alternatives exist.

Electrical Work as a Considered Craft

The electrical installation in a home is, in many ways, its nervous system. It underpins everything — lighting, appliances, communication, safety. When something in that system is handled poorly, the consequences range from inconvenience to real risk. When it is handled well, it simply works, invisibly and reliably.

At Alderwick Sero, we have spent over a decade working in Kuala Lumpur's residential properties, and we have developed a deep respect for the complexity that can exist even in seemingly straightforward homes. Older properties especially — the terraced houses of Petaling Jaya, the shophouses of Chow Kit, the bungalows along Ampang — carry decades of electrical decisions, some careful and some less so.

Our technicians arrive at each property with a combination of technical knowledge and the kind of practical patience that experienced trades develop over time. We do not assume. We look, we test, we listen to what the homeowner has noticed. Then we explain what we find and discuss the options available.

This way of working is not slower in any meaningful sense — it simply avoids the rework and confusion that comes from rushing. We think it reflects a better understanding of what residential electrical service should be.
